May 2007:Progression of Fase 2
September 2007:“The cold has gone and the people of Tahua are on the job again!” Next week news about the re-start of the construction. (and a translation in English for this letter) Now it´s for those who want to practice their Spanish…  Oktober 2007:The building season has started! Autumn has arrived in Europe, which means that spring has arrived in Tahua! During the winter it is not possible to continue building in Tahua due to below zero temperatures. But we have continued to work Europe. In the last months we been successfully fundraising so that the people of Tahua can continue to build this season. Thanks to many kind people, we have raised an amazing $10,000 (around €7,000). In Tahua things are moving again after the winter. A couple of weeks ago we received a letter from the Municipality of Tahua requesting the building materials for the next stage. In the agreement between the Municipality, the people of Tahua and Stichting Boading School Tahua, it states that the latter will provide the necessary building materials and coordinate the process. The community of Tahua is responsible for the actual building of the boarding school. Sayda and the architect will be visiting Tahua next week, to make a list of new building materials needed in the coming months. One of the aims is to finish the roof before the raining seasons starts at the beginning of December. Also in the coming months we will keep you posted with the latest news and pictures.
